Adams & Martin Group works directly with boutique up to AmLaw firms to place skilled legal professionals across all levels. Our clients rely on us to strengthen their litigation teams by hiring experienced litigation secretaries. In this role, you'll manage document preparation, filings, calendaring, and the administrative workflow that keeps active cases moving. The work relies on accuracy, organized systems, and consistent support. Onsite presence is required, with hybrid scheduling available for certain assignments.

What to Expect in This Role

  • Location: San Diego, CA
  • Engagement Type: Temporary, Temp-to-Hire, or Direct-Hire
  • Compensation varies by assignment. Temp: $30-40 hourly/Direct Hire: $60,000-115,000 annually
  • Preferred practice-area exposure: Civil Litigation, Insurance Defense, Labor & Employment, Complex Litigation, and IP Civil Litigation

What You'll Do

  • Draft, prepare, revise, and finalize pleadings, correspondence, discovery, motions, and other litigation documents.
  • Handle state and federal e-filings and maintain Outlook-based calendars in compliance with court rules and deadlines.
  • Maintain structured electronic and physical files, including exhibits, binders, matter documents, and accurate case-file sets across multiple assignments.
  • Support billing, expense processing, scheduling, travel coordination, and other litigation-related administrative tasks.

What We're Looking For

  • 3-5+ years of litigation secretary experience in a law-firm environment.
  • State and federal e-filing experience (ECF, California systems) and strong manual calendaring aligned with applicable court rules.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook; familiarity with legal DMS platforms (NetDocuments or similar).
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and support multiple attorneys.
